Karen Chai

Karen is a dispute resolution associate at Liu Law Inc. She is dual-qualified, having been admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in Malaysia prior to moving to California, where she is also licensed as an attorney.
Before moving to this role, Karen was part of the legal team of the anti-trust and competition regulator in Malaysia. During her tenure with the Malaysian regulator, she was seconded to the enforcement team of the Australian competition and consumerism regulator in Canberra, Australia.
Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of London, United Kingdom and subsequently completed her Master of Laws (LLM) degree at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She later earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Karen is conversant in English, Mandarin, Malay and German.
